About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa refused without explanation

China immigration officers lack the English language and communication is done by sigh language. China should make it clear that not everyone will get transit visa, even with permitting passport and itinerary. Traveller are left on the mercy of the 144 transit officers. Ones refused the traveling parties will have to remain at the airport until next flight. I highly recommend travellers wanting to leave the airport should get a proper visa. China needs to have really improve the verbal communications in English as many are transit through china to other countries. Transiting through china is not a easy task on their transit visa and it's no fun for travelling parties to remain at the airport for extended hours.

I think the need to "improve the verbal communications in English" was required of the original poster. The repeated use of the term "transit visa" by the poster makes it obvious that this is somebody who did not appreciate the difference between transit without visa (which I suspect was granted) and the temporary entry permit (which I suspect was denied). Travellers should do their research in advance. Pointless to come on here afterwards with irrelevant complaints.

I have a feeling that OP is related to Pakistan in some ways. This is not uncommon: Pakistanis, whether traveling on that country's passport or not, will usually be turned away. There are several data points suggesting this.

Yes I have visited Pakistan on my Canadian passport once. I believe china 72 hours visa free transit. Should inform and make aware the traveling parties that they will be denied visa free transit, should they have visited pakistan regardless which passport. Thank You for your response in this matter.

China Eastern had provided the hotel request form,. Whatwere was said between the transit free visa people and China eastern employees is unknown. All I know my itinerary was changed and I was on a plane to Singapore lucky. Would have died if I had to stay at the airport waiting for my flight. We were not the only ones who were refused entry. There were many who were refused and officer told all of us that " he is no obligated to tell the reason. Till now I dont know why I was refused entry. 🙄

FLIGHT FM 861 - SHANGHAI AIRLINES TUE 24 SEPTEMBER 2019. Was the flight for kaula lumpur, but itinerary was changed and I was on a flight to Singapore on China Eastern MU567 at 1010 hrs. According to employees of China Eastern, we were refused by officers. And I did not land or visited any other part of mainland china. Shanghai airport was the only location for my connecting flight. ☹

That sounds like the other cases in which Pakistani origin passengers got stomped on by immigration. OP is not to be blamed here. There are several cases before yours but you may be the first among them to be refused 144-hour transit. I hope that, in the future, others will not jump on their feet to judge based on the initial assumption that the passenger is at fault.

Please, could you tell us why did you were refused visa free transit? Could you tell us about your itinerary, but with all the details? Like this, you just have complained about the inability of the Chinese officials to use English language, but you really did not tell us anything about the crucial details. By the way, could you make it clear whether you were looking after a "Transit Visa" that you have mentioned in the subject or 144 transit without visa? Thanks.

You should use correct terminology because your statement is not correct. You were not denied visa free transit because you have obviously used your ticket entirely and you have arrived at your destination according to the schedule. You were denied a temporary entry permit. Please, be correct with the terminology because you are just confusing the readers. Also, the people traveling to Pakistan could be denied a temporary entry permit and not a visa free transit.

Once again, could you present your itinerary in detail, please.

I understand what you have written, but could you, please, explain the detail with your 6:50pm (18:50) departure from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur. I'm asking you this because there are no direct flights from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur departing at 6:50pm (18:50) at any day within a week. There are three airlines departing daily from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur (two Malaysian and one Chinese) and none of them departs at 6:50pm (18:50).

Could I assume that you had some additional landing within mainland China?

Indeed, now it is more than obvious that Chinese authorities have decided to get rid of you from their soil as soon as possible. You were eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and everything was transparent in your case. I just wanted to know all the details and to be certain when I conclude something because we had so many cases where the passengers were thinking they were eligible and in the end, it was their fault. I can only apologize for bothering you with so many question because you were absolutely right and you were denied something that was created by Chinese lawmakers in the first place.

Also, I can conclude that the language barrier was not to blame for this situation, but it was a decision brought by some official or by a group of them because of the reason that was retained among them. This is such a regretful situation because the people should not be treated in this way, especially if they are law abiding. I just hope that, at least, it was not you who was to bear the cost of your schedule change.

Once again, I feel so sorry because of you and I just hope that the Chinese immigration authorities will not repeat such a regretful moves toward the law abiding passengers in the future. Good luck and, please, don't allow that this episode ruin your future travel plans. All the best.
