Japan > Shanghai > South Korea qualifies for visa free transit in Shanghai
Macau and Hong Kong are considered separate countries for transit purposes and do not need a visa for stop of that length.
British passport for example can stay in HK for 120 days with no visa. i think its 90 days for Australian passport.
