My family will be travelling to Shanghai and Beijing.

One of them is a Malaysian and another is an Indonesian helper holding an Indonesian passport.

To travel to Shanghai and Beijing, I assume as tourists, Malaysian and Indonesian passport holder part of your family will need a Chinese tourist (L) visa obtained in advance, but your Singaporean husband will not need a visa because Singaporean citizens can travel to China visa free for a visits of up to 15 days. Anyway, if the visit will last more than 15 days, your husband can shortly exit to, let's say, Hong Kong or Macau and return back the day after or he can also apply for a Chinese tourist (L) visa in advance.
