About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

If I am arriving at the new Daxing Airport

is there an area in immigration to apply for the 144 hour transit visa exemption?

Yes, there is. Daxing airport has recently been introduced in all relevant travel documents, including Timatic as an eligible port of entry/exit for 144 hour visa free transit purposes. You will follow the signs that will lead you to 144 hour visa free transit counter or you can, of course, ask airport ground staff about it.

By the way, I suggest you to use correct terminology because it is not 144 hour transit visa, but 144 hour visa free transit, so there is no visa at all.
