About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

I need to go visit China, so i must be transiting?

Indonesia - China - Indonesia? (that would not work in this case?)
Indonesia - China (5days) - Hong kong would that work?

if not, maybe to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore or Taiwan?

Indonesia - China - Indonesia is just a round trip and not a transit, so ineligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme.

Indonesia - China - Hong Kong is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in the same way as it would be Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Taiwan.
