About:Visa on Arrival

Hong Kong to Shenzhen plus 5 day visa

Hi!
What's the best way to travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and get the 5 day Visa On Arrival (family of 4)?
You guys mentioned that "There is no office at Futian Port although it is only a few hundred meters from Huanggang Port."
Is it OK the take the fast train from Hong Kong to Futian station (without the visa) and then go to Huanggang Port to get the VOA there?

Or do we have to travel Luohu first and then somehow continue to SZ-Futian (our hotel)?
In this case which train(s) do we have to take?

In reality, by far the best option, as always, is to take MTR East Rail line to Lo Wu. There you will clear the Hong Kong formalities and after you do that, you will just proceed some 100 meters to mainland Chinese border crossing called Luohu. You will all apply for ma visa at Luohu VOA office. After your visas are granted, you will take a metro, Line 1 from Luohu toward west. You will exchange at Shopping Park station to Line 3, direction Yitian. This Line 3 will take you directly in the heart of Futian and you will see whether your hotel is closer to Shixia or Yitian station and in relation to that, you will exit the metro on one of the mentioned two stations.

You should not use Futian border crossing because at that crossing you cannot obtain a Shenzhen VOA. You can use Huanggang border crossing if you prefer to reach Shenzhen by bus, but you cannot reach it by taking a train to Futian and than to make a transfer to Huanggang. You are advised to do exactly as explained above because Lo Wu / Luohu was always the best place for crossing between Hong Kong and Shenzhen if traveling on VOA.
