About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Philippine passport holder can have a 24hour visa free entry in Guangzhou?

Hi, I am holding a Philippine passport. I booked a flight from Manila to Dubai. My itinerary was Manila--- Guangzhou (with 22 hours layover) ---Dubai. Am I eligible for a 24 hour visa free entry? Am I allowed to get outside the airport during my layover? If yes, what are the requirements I need to present and where will I get the 24 hour free visa?

Hi, I booked a flight from
Dubai-Guangzhou (with 5hours layover) -Manila
AND
Manila-Guangzhou (with 22hours layover) - Dubai.

Am I allowed to exit the airport during my 22hours of layover?

Yes, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Guangzhou and you don't need any kind of visa. Anyway, to be allowed to exit the airport, I need to know on what type of ticket do you travel! If you are traveling on a single (through) ticket, you will not be allowed to exit the airport because the recent practice of Chinese authorities in Guangzhou is that they do not grant a temporary entry permit any more to the passengers traveling on 24 hour TWOV and having international to international connection. Quite the contrary, if you are traveling on separate tickets, you will be granted a temporary entry permit and you will be allowed to exit the airport.

Anna, if your flights are on a single (through) ticket by China Southern, you will not be allowed, almost for certain, to exit the airport. Anyway, since your layover of 22 hours is very long, you can try your luck upon your landing in Guangzhou. Just approach 24 hour visa free transit counter and ask for a temporary entry permit. I can just hope that the immigration authorities will have some mercy and allow you to exit the airport for a short stroll in the city.
