Am I eligible for 144 hour transit visa free?

I am traveling from Houston to Beijing and staying 82 hours before moving on to Bankok and Koh Samui, Thailand for a week. Our return trip has a short (5 hour) layover in Beijing before returning to the US. Do I qualify for the 144 hour stay visa free?
