About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am traveling from US to India with layover at China (PVG) & US Visa is expired. Are we eligible?

We depart from SFO and arrive at PVG at 17:35 Hours. Next day our departure from PVG to Delhi is at 14:25 Hours. The duration of the layover is less than 24 hours.

Our US Visa is expired and we hold an Indian passport. Our kids are US Citizens and carry a US Passport and a valid Indian tourist visa.

Are we eligible for the free 24 Hour transit visa on arrival - for us (Indian citizens with no valid US Visa) and kids (US citizens with valid Indian tourist visa)?

Thanks.

Yes, you are all definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. In short, you have fulfilled all the criteria asked for 24 hour visa free transit. Indeed, Chinese immigration authorities will not care about your expired US visas because you are not traveling to US, but to India. Also, your kids have a valid Indian tourist visas, so there is nothing more that you have to do. You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in US that you will travel to India via Shanghai using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane.
