How long do I have to be out of China on a Class L visa before re-entering?

I currently live in China with my wife but I only have a Class L visa with Multiple Entry and 60 day duration. I am going to Hong Kong next week to get my exit and entry stamps to restart my duration of stay. Does anyone know how long I have to be out of China for before coming back in? Do I have to be out for 24 hours or can I go to Hong Kong in the morning and then come back into China on the evening of the same day? Any help is greatly appreciated.

No regulations clearly states the gap between your exit and re-entry. Therefore, you can go to HK in the morning and then come back to mainland China on the evening of the same day.
