Transit airside Pudong Airport Air China Terminal 2?

Helps please!?

I cannot seem to get a clear answer on the internet, as many posts have contrary information. I have a 2.5 hour transit time at Shanghai Pudong on Air China flying from London to Osaka end of November. All flights are with Air China on one ticket. Luggage I presume should be checked through from London to Osaka. With Air China would I stay 'airside' for this transfer or would I have to exit airside through immigration and return to departures via check-in hall, immigration (again) and security, using the 24 hour transfer visa exemption? I have previously transferred through Beijing with CA where the transit method is all done airside.

I also realise there is a now a new satellite terminal open that handles some Air China flights.

Does anybody have recent experience of Air China International to International transit at PVG?

Any information gratefully received. Many thanks indeed!

Yes, you can enjoy the 24 hours visa free policy.
Based on the information on the official website, the transfer procedures are the following:
After Arrival - International Arrival Access - Joint Inspection & Quarantine & Immigration Inspection - Luggage Claim - International Arrival Hall - Go to 3F for Boarding

They usually through check the bags and you can choose to arrive and use the transit visa facility OR transit from arrival through security to departures.

Given your time I would suggest standard transit as their security can take a while.
