About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Extend 15 days L visa

I was only given a 15 day L visa (maybe due to National holiday) and was told I might be able to extend with 15 days in China. I got my visa in Bangkok and I’m a Danish national. Any idea if I can extend?

Yes, it's possible to extend it. After you enter China, you can extend it at the local Exit and Entry Administration 7 days before your visa expires. You may be required to provide your paspsort, application form, photo, and proofs for the extension.

I appreciate the answer, but it turned out I could not extend it. It seems tourist/L visas can not be extended while in China, regardless of whether they are 15 days or 30 days.
Hopefully useful info for others.

Well, as far as I know its not been possible to extend L-visas (tourist visas) for a few years. At least for Danish passport holders. I don't know the reason for this and I don't know if its the same for Indonesian passport holders.
