About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get 144hrs visa free transit?

I am Greek citizen holding a Greek passport. It is very clear about entering China but not much mentioned about the means of exiting China apart the three airports of the area.

I intend to visit Guangzhu landing at CAN airport from Bangkok. Then visit Shenzen and probably Zhuhai exiting to either Macau or Hong Kong.

Do I compulsory have to exit via one of the three airports of the province or I can exit by ferry from Shekou port or even on foot from Zhuhai to Macao?

What about by ferry, mini van or train to Hong Kong.

Am I elligible and what sort of advance proof is needed in order to obtain the free visa transit?

You can exit from any port of entry in the province (the only exception is West Kowloon but that is not technically in the province but on Hong Kong soil). The problem is you still need a confirmed onward train/ferry/bus ticket to HK/Macau in order to board your flight. Immigration has stated that they have no problem with people crossing the border by any mean of transportation but that is still not in the direction provided to the airline.

When you board in Bangkok, you must hold a confirmed onward air, cruise or train ticket to a third country within 144 hours, starting from 00:01 on the day following the day of entry. This effectively rules out leaving on foot or by car/taxi/van etc.

The departure locations are Guangzhou (CAN), Meixian (MXZ), Shantou (SWA), Shenzhen (SZX), Zhanjiang (ZHA), Dongguan Humen Sea Port, Dongguan Railway Port, Doumen Sea Port, Foshan Gaoming Sea Port, Foshan Railway Port, Guangzhou Sea Port, Guangzhou Tianhe Railway Port, Heshan Sea Port, Jiuzhou Sea Port, Jiangmen Sea Port, Lianhuashan Sea Port, Nansha Sea Port, Rongqi Sea Port, Shekou Sea Port, Shenzhen Airport Support Sea Port, Shenzhen Bay Port, Shenzhen Futian Port, Shenzhen Huanggang Port, Shenzhen Luohu Port, Shenzhen Shatoujiao Port, Shenzhen Wenjindu Port, Wanchai Sea Port, Wanshan Sea Port, Zhaoqing Railway Port, Zhongshan Sea Port, Zhuhai Gongbei Port or Zhuhai Hengqin Port.
