US PASSPORT AND CHINA VISA

I HAD A USA PASSPORT THAT EXPIRED 2016 ALONG WITH A CHINA VISA THAT WAS TO EXPIRE 2020. I APPLIED FOR A RENEWAL OF MY USA PASSPORT AND GOT MY NEW PASSPORT BUT MY OLD BOOK WAS NOT RETURNED WITH MY VALID CHINA VISA. SINCE I ONLY HAVE MY NEW USA PASSPORT DO I HAVE TO APPLY FOR A NEW CHINA VISA SINCE MY NEW USA PASSPORT DOESNT HAVE MY CHINA VISA? IS MY CHINA VISA STILL GOOD AND CAN I GO TO THE CHINA EMBASSY AND GET ANOTHER REPLACED VISA? THANKS

You will need a new visa if your passport is lost. There is no "renewing" a Chinese visa and this will be treated as any other application. Your Chinese visa is also only valid when you still have possession of it. If the visa along with the passport is no longer in your possession then legally speaking you don't have a visa at all.
