About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

separate booked flights

Hello!
Thanks for all the information!
one thing i don't fully understand. I order te qualify for the 144 hour transit entry, is it necessary to have a flight that truly requires a transit in Shanghai, or can I simply book 2 separate one-way flights? One going in Shanghai (from Osh Kyrgyzstan), and one going out shanghai (to the philippines)?
I have a Dutch passport.

You can definitely use tow separate tickets. This detail was never a problem. Two details are that really matter. The first one is that your citizenship has to be eligible (among 53 eligible countries) and that your itinerary is eligible, i.e. in real transit.

You should be very careful about this. You have mentioned Osh, but you have to be aware that there are no direct flights between Osh and Shanghai, so this flight is definitely making an additional stop. It is fine if that stop is in some foreign country, but if you intend to travel via Urumqi, than you can enjoy only 24 hour visa free transit. In other words, Shanghai can be your only city (area) where you are allowed to have your stop within China in order to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit.
