About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Fly into Beijing out of Shanghai

Hi,
I arrive in Beijing for three days from Tokyo then fly to the UK from Shanghai. Can I get the train to Shanghai from Beijing with no visa? Or should I fly?

You must obtain a visa in advance. There is no visa-free option available to you unless you stay in China for under 24 hours. 144 hour transit without visa allows transit in Beijing, or Shanghai, but not both.
