Contact and register with your embassy first, then surrender yourself to the police and you will be held until you are interviewed. If you are deemed to be illegally employed while in China then you are liable for a fine of up to 20k CNY. Then you will either be given a 15-day detention or a separate fine of 10k CNY. Then you will be prohibited from entering China for up to 10 years.0
