About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Proof for 144-hour visa free transit

You mentioned that I need a plane ticket with confirmed seats for the 144-hour visa free transit, do you know if that's strictly enforced? I ask because I noticed my seat info doesn't shown on my booking email, even though the email shows the flight info, the date info and destination info, so I wonder if I need to call the airline to get an updated itinerary? Also, are most Chinese airlines familiar with this rule? I read elsewhere that some airlines rejected their passengers when they did not have a China visa... Thank you!

You do not need an allocated seat. The "confirmed seat" wording just means that you are not travelling standby (like some airline employees). You should simply print out your eticket showing the long ticket number. All Chinese airlines are familiar with transit without visa. It really is nothing special and thousands of people do it every year. It will be a waste of time calling your airline in advance.
