About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

cruise ship 1 day stay Shanghai

I arrive on a cruise ship to Shanghai for 1 day and will take an excursion organized by the cruise ship. I will arrive from Japan and travel to Korea. Am I eligible for the 144 hr visa free transit?

Yes, you are eligible, but probably for 24 hour visa free transit. To be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit you are supposed to stay for more than 24 hours within Shanghai area. In reality, you can easily calculate it by yourself, from your scheduled docking until your scheduled departure. Less than 24 hours = 24 hour visa free transit, longer than 24 hours = 144 hour visa free transit.

In any case, you will be able to enjoy your time in Shanghai absolutely visa free!
