About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Question about 24 H visa for Iranian

Dear Sir/Madam

We have problem for our trip, I'm asking whether we can get 24 H visa in Shanghai airport

We are 3 Iranian persons, our visa for China is single and we flight from Tehran to Shanghai by Mahan airline on 15 of Oct 2019, then we leave China (Shanghai) on 20 of Oct and flight to South Korea-Seoul, again we flight back to China-Shanghai on 25 of Oct and then at the same day we flight to Tehran by Mahan airline but unfortunately our Visa is single, is there any solution. We may claim our luggage in Shaghai and we may have to change the airport.

I'm writing to give my thousands of thanks for your perfect explanation in detail. Is a kind of you.

Just I need two more clarifications. First, please be informed that our stop in Shanghai would be on 25th of October, and second we flight from Busan-South Korea to Shanghai but you had mentioned Tokyo, I could not understand. Would you please clarify.

And at last, I'm Iranian and I don't know whether this 24h visa covers my nationality.

Ahmad, you should be totally relaxed because all your itinerary is just fine. Look at the following:

- The period between 15 of Oct to 20 of Oct will be perfectly covered by your single entry tourist visa and after that you will proceed to Tokyo. Here we can both agree that everything is crystal clear.

- Your stop in Shanghai on your flight back to Tehran will be perfectly covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. Here just a few instructions:

- You should print out your flight tickets (e-tickets) and keep the printouts with you
- You will declare at check-in in Tokyo that you will travel to Tehran via Shanghai using 24
hour visa free transit
- After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane
- Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will
apply for a temporary entry permit
- You will be allowed the permit because you will have to collect your luggage and perform
new check-in for your flight to Tehran

In case that you have to make a transfer from Hongqiao Terminal 2 to Pudong airport, your best option is to take a direct shuttle bus line 1 that will take you directly to Pudong airport using motorways that bypass Shanghai city. This bus takes roughly 70 minutes for this route and the price is 30 CNY. These buses depart every 15 - 25 minutes depending on the part of the day.

Ahmad, my apologies... I was also answering to some other question where Tokyo was in question. Yes, you are fine, just replace Tokyo with Seoul and everything else remain the same :)

Iranian citizenship is fine for 24 hour visa free transit. There are just two airports where Iranians are not eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and they are Xiamen and Urumqi. You are not using them, so just enjoy your travel.
