About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling to Guangzhou from Hong Kong

We are traveling to Guangzhou from Sao Paulo, but our flight stops in Hong Kong and from there we take the train to Guangzhou. We stay in Guangzhou less than 72 hours and take the train back to Hong Kong, from where we flight to Bangkok. Do we need a Visa?

Thank you

Yes, you need a visa for China. The only visa-free options will involve a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou, followed by a non-stop trip to (for example) Macao, then back to Hong Kong. Probably easier and cheaper just to get a visa.
