About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London - KL - Yangon - HK - Beijing - London

Hello - we are planning to spend 72 hours in Beijing in January, I just want to double check we are fine on the timings and that we are coming in from Hong Kong to be eligible for the 72 hour visa waiver.

We will be entering Hong Kong on 29th December for 3 nights. From there we plan to fly to Beijing, arriving 17.05 on 1st January 2020. Our departure flight is on 4th January at 12.10.

Many thanks

Your itinerary and your timings are fine, but you should know that now it is 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing that has replaced 72 hour TWOV a couple of years ago. In other words, if you want, you can stay in Beijing area even for a longer period. By the way, your flights to and from Beijing should not have any additional landing within mainland China.
