About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

US citizen visit Zhuhai from Macau

Hi I'm a US citizen attending exhibit/convention in Zhuhai this October 17, 2019. I will fly into Macau airport and plan to stay in Macau and go to Zhuhai by taxi for 2 days. Do I need full China visa or can I just get a VOA in Macau? And if I need full visa, how do I get it fast since I'm leaving US on October 1.

Since you will be leaving on October 1, then a Zhuhai VOA will be a solution although it is a bit pricey for US citizens with actual price of 956 CNY. You are advised to bring this amount in Chinese cash and you can easily obtain it at one of many Macau money changers. They also accept AMEX and VISA credit cards. You should also bring a passport size photo, if you have one. You can choose among Cotai (usually called Lotus Bridge) / Hengqin and Gongbei border crossings and you should know that taxis with Macau plates are not allowed to cross the border. You can arrange private transfer as cross border limousine service, but taxis cannot do that.
