Does Shanghai 3 days Metro passes also include the transfer between major bullet train station?

Does 3 days Metro passes (CNY45) also allowed the transfer between HongQiao Metro and South Railway Station? We are a group of 5 adults (with luggage) and will take a bullet train into HongQiao on the arrival, and will depart from Shanghai South station to our next destination. We will be in shanghai for approx 3 days hence considering to take the 3 days metro passes, and how does the count down 3 days time calculated? on the first tap on? is it unlimited ride within 72 hours? Can we purchase from any metro station such as HongQiao metro too? Thanks so much for the clarification.. Much appreciated.
