About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Australian family with dual French nationality layover for 20h.

We want to get a hotel and visit Beijing during this 20h. Do we need a visa or will we be covered by the 72h transit visa? If any, what are the fees?

If your route is Country A - Beijing - Country C, you will be covered by the 24h visa-free transit. It's free of charge.
