About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get 144-hours visa when flying from and to Taipei?

If I go to Beijing for 6 days with a return flight from and to Taipei, am I eligible for 144-hours visa-free entry? This route:
A: Taipei -> B: Beijing -> C: Taipei

No you need to continue directly to a third country before you can return to Taiwan
