About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Hi, I´m flying to Japan by the end of october from Barcelona to Tokyo with Air China, my flight makes the connection in Pekin for 4 hours either in the inbound and the outbound flight, won´t leave the airport will wait for the next flight. Do I need any transit visa ? I´m italian. Thank you
