About:China Tourist Visa

What type visa

I am a uk resident travelling from london to phu quoc vietnam via guangzhou with 18 hr layover in guangzhou but the flight from london does a 4 hr stop in sanya before flying to guangzhou.
We have to clear immigration and customs then re check back in for same flight to guangzhou?
What type of visa is required?

If your total layover in China is more than 24 hours, you need to get a transit visa.
