About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruise from Seoul to Shanghai flight connection in Hong Kong

Hi
Our cruise around Japan and South Korea terminates in Shanghai. We are flying back to the uk the same day that we dock but the flight is via hong kong. I am hoping that we qualify for the 24 hour free visa transit. If so do I need to do anything before we travel. Thanks.

You are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit because Hong Kong is an eligible territory for visa free transit purposes. Since Seoul will be your last port of call before Shanghai, you will just declare to the South Korean authorities that you intend to travel to Hong Kong via Shanghai using 24 hour visa free transit. All you need to have is your valid passport and your flight ticket where it will be visible that you will fly directly from Shanghai to Hong Kong.
