About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Hello, we will be flying from the United States to Beijing

but will have a 2 hr layover in Tokyo without leaving the airport. Staying in BJ for 4 days, then flying to Tokyo for the second part of our trip, only 1 full day. Do we still qualify for the 144 hr visa? Thank you.

"144 hr visa" doesn't exist. There is 144 hours transit without visa, but you are flying Japan-China-Japan so you're not transiting China. Therefore you need a visa or different flights.
