About:China Work Visa

Can I do freelance work while working for a company on a z visa?

I’m currently working in China on a z visa for a Chinese company . One of my friends runs a business with his wife and he offered some freelance work. Can I do the work and invoice him without getting into trouble from uncle Xi?

Well, actually you can do some freelance work while working in China. However, I'm not sure whether you can issue invoice to your friends. By this word, I mean, you may receive money in private, but may not able to issue invoice as an individual.
