About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Freelance in China

I currently have a Z type with a company here in China but I'd like to quit and just do freelance teaching for different companies to support myself. Could I do this with a tourist (L)? What's the best way to go about staying here and working for myself?

No, I’m afraid you cannot do that. You are not allowed to work in China on a tourist L type.
A work Z type is necessary if you want to work in China, no matter who you will work for doing freelance teaching.
