Do i have to book/have confirmed flight tickets to china while applying for my tourist visa

Do i need to have/to book confirmed flight tickets to china while applying for my tourist visa ?
I hold a Portuguese passport

Yes, you should have a confirmed booking of flight tickets. OR if you have an invitation letter from someone in China, you may not need to provide it.
