Beijing on Golden Week. Stay or getaway?

Hello, our flight is arriving next 29th of September to Capital Airport. I did not know anything about the Golden Week.

What is the best option? Stay in the city (we have booked our hostel from 29th Sept to 4th October). Or trying to get a train on 29th sept from Beijing West Station to Pingyao or Luoyang? Although apparently all the train tickets are sold out.

Any help on here would be appreciate it thanks!.
