beijing on golden week. staygetaway?

Question

Hello, our flight is arriving next 29th of September to Capital Airport. I did not know anything about the Golden Week.What is the best option? Stay in the city (we have booked our hostel from 29th Sept to 4th October). Or trying to get a train on 29th sept from Beijing West Station to Pingyao or Luoyang? Although apparently all the train tickets are sold out.Any help on here would be appreciate it thanks!.Javi Garcia.

During golden week of China, you will meet large crowds no matter where you are. And for your information, October 1st will mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of China, so some attractions near Tian'anmen square will be closed for military parade, like Forbidden city, and cause some inconvenience of transport. Maybe going to Pingyao or other cities is a good choice.
