Judith, you did not tell us where do you come from to Beijing. OK, I will assume that you will arrive from UK. You are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in principle, but I will mention a couple of conditions that your itinerary has to fulfill:

- Your flight from UK to Beijing should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan
- Your cruise should not have its first port of call, immediately after Tianjin (Beijing), in mainland China

If the above mentioned conditions are fulfilled, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area.
