About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arriving PVG

If I arrive into Shanghai st 2pm on 10th October can I depart at 00:40 on 14th October? Or is this outside the 72 hours as I will be thru security before midnight on 13th?

72 hours has been replaced by 144 hours in Shanghai. By the way, what time you clear security is irrelevant; the time is calculated on scheduled arrival and departure times of your flights.
