About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

We are staying Beijing for 4 nights then boarding our cruise ship

Hi as above we arrive in Beijing from the uk and stay for 4 nights before boarding our cruise ship first stop japan.we are just arriving as tourists looking round Beijing.do we require a visa or can we use the 144 hours free one

Thank you for your reply we actually fly from uk to Singapore then board another plane to Beijing as our flight is not direct is this still eligible for the 144 hour visa thanks mr lucas

Actually, you didn't mention where do you come from to Beijing! OK, I will assume that you will arrive there from UK. If I'm right, your itinerary will be:

UK - Beijing - Japan

This itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area. Please, keep in mind that your flight from UK to Beijing should not have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China and Japan.

Yes, you are fine with this flight/cruise itinerary too. Your itinerary or better to say a portion that interests Chinese authorities is:

Singapore - Beijing - Japan

Now the sentence: Please, keep in mind that your flight from Singapore to Beijing should not have any additional landing within mainland China and Japan :)
