About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

American in Taipei

I'm an American citizen living and working in Taipei as a teacher with an Alien Resident Card. I would like to visit Beijing as a tourist on Nov. 28-Dec. 1. Will I need a visa?

Mary, if you have a return ticket, you will need a visa. If not, you may use the 72 or 144h visa-free transit. Just look into more info about it and see whether you are eligible.

In other words, you can fly a triangle flight:

Taipei - Beijing - Seoul - Taipei
Taipei - Beijing - Osaka - Taipei

Or similar.

This is perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area.
