About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Is it permitted to re-enter Guangzhou for another 144 hour visa free entry?

For example: UK -> Guangzhou -> Japan = 144 hour visa free entry

after one week in Japan, return via Guangzhou:

Japan -> Guangzhou -> UK = get another 144 hour visa free entry?

Is there a minimum time before you can get another one?

Many Thanks!

You can do this definitely and you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit each way. There is no prescribed minimum time between two uses of this scheme. In reality, after you have used one visa free transit, you have to exit from China and practically return during the same day on eligible itinerary to enjoy another one.

By the way, you should take care that your flights to and from Guangzhou don't have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China.
