About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa requirement verification

I am leaving on about a week from Oregon, USA to end destination Tokyo, japan.
I have a 15 hr layover in shenzen
And a 22 hour layover in fuzhou. I just learned that fuzhou may not stay open all night.. I was planning on staying in the airport.
Can somebody please help! Do i need to cancel my trip??

Mary, Fuzhou airport really closes during the night, but this detail is not that important because you can find quite good accommodations there and I would recommend you to have an accommodation instead of waiting for 22 hours in the sterile airport premises even if it does not closes.

Anyway, here we have something a bit more complicated situation and that is the fact that your itinerary is longer than 24 hours and since you have two stops in two different Chinese transit zones, you are not eligible for any visa free transit scheme. In reality, to be allowed to perform your itinerary, you would have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance.

So, now when you know these details, you will have to make your decisions promptly and in the first place is the possibility to obtain a Chinese visa in relatively short time.
