About:8 Tips for Filling Out Chinese Visa Application Form

Difficult visa question

Hello,
I have a difficult/particular question about the immigration/visa system.

I have a Chinese tourist double entry visa which I have not used yet.
Furthermore, we know that there is a “free transit visa” if you stop for a limited time in one of the authorized Chinese cities.

The question is: am I allowed to use the “free transit visa” without stamping my tourist visa? I would like to spend as long as possible in China, so for example: could I fly to Hong Kong, stopping for a layover of 3 days in Guangzhou using the free transit visa, then continuing to HK, without using the actual “L” visa, which I would then use later overland?

I hope you understand the complicated question.
Thank you since now for your help!

Michelle, you can first use a 144-hour visa-free transit permit to enter Guangzhou and save your L visa for the second entry. You can just inform this of the immigration officer upon entry. However, the roue you listed is HK - Guangzhou - HK, this is not an eligible transit because you go back to HK. You need to change the route, for example, HK - Guangzhou - Macau.
