Can a spousal visa be denied if my spouse has committed a minor crime over 20 years ago?

I have job offer to teach English and eligible for a Z Visa (no criminal record), my spose will accompany me but he has a record for housebreaking when he was 18 (he is now 51). Will he be denied a s visa?

What happens if the crime is not disclosed to the authorities in the application?
