About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

My residence visa is only 3 months. How do I go about that?

I am working as an English Teacher in one of the biggest hotels in China. I am teaching the hotel employees the basics about the English Language. However, I am wondering why I am only being approved of a 3 months resince visa when my contract duration is 3 years. I arrived in China last May 2019 and got my 1st resident visa with duration from June 10 to Sep 10, 2019. My employer renewed the resident visa and I got another 3 months visa expiring on Dec. 10. Can you enlighten me with that? PBS says that I am getting 3 months visa only because I am working as a teacher in a hotel. What's wrong with that? Sorry. I am just really worried right now. I wanted to make sure that I am doing everything on a legal way. Thanks!

There is really no recourse to this. Recent crackdowns on foreign English teachers do not help and now some people who already entered the country on a Z visa were told that their residence permit applications could not be approved (a scenario that almost never happened before given that the Z visa was usually approved after the person was given the green light by both the PSB and Human Resources Department). Just sit back and wait till this wave of "strike hard" campaign is over and hope the situation will return to the way they were.
