About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Im traveling from Washington DC to tokyo with a long transit in Beijing. I am a Venezuelan citizen.

Will I be able to get the 24 hour twov entry permit. I arrive at 6 pm on Tuesday night and depart for Japan at 3 pm Wednesday afternoon

Fausto, first and the most important detail is that you itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Of course, this is valid if you have mentioned all your stops within your itinerary.

As far as an entry permit is concerned, you can apply for one upon your landing in Beijing. You are advised to book your accommodation in Beijing in advance and to print out the confirmation in advance. Also, you should print out your e-tickets and have them in hard copy. I would say that your chances to be allowed to exit the airport are very good, especially with an accommodation booking confirmation and with the fact that your layover is very long and more than that, during the whole night. Anyway, you should be aware that the issuing of entry permit is not the passenger's right and the issuing of one is entirely upon discretion of immigration authorities.
