Applying visa in person at Washington DC

Does Washington DC office provide walk-ins to retrieve passport after submitting application online? Is there a ready date once I submit my application online? I live in Texas and have to book ticket in advance. Is there a visa office closer to Texas or in Texas?

Yes, the embassy provides walk-in service. There isn't a ready date to pick up. The processing may take 4-5 working days and you may need to submit supplementary materials. Sorry, no visa office closer, you have to apply at the embassy.
