Is Bank Certificate needed for Chinese Business Visa?

I work as a remote Quality Check for an American employer, I need to go to China to visit our suppliers and I am currently finishing my requirement. since I dont have money in my bank account and as my employer will shoulder all the expenses, I asked for my employer's business permit, income tax return, bank statement and bank certificate. My employer is not familiar with a "bank certificate". I wonder if chinese embassy is requiring bank certificate from US? I am not sure if U.S has this kind of bank document or maybe it is called differently?

The bank certificate means the Bank Certificate of Deposit Balance(including the past 6 months bank statement) and the receipt for payment of this certificate is also need for the visa application.
