Multi entries China visa for Thai passport (hongkong entries/exists)

I have a Thai passport living in the UK
I am going to Hongkong for trade show but will be travelling from Mainland China by train, and train back to China.
Can I apply for multi entries China visa?
The plan is to fly to China, travel to hongkong, then back in China and fly off from China. Is this possible?
Thanks ,
Sally

Sally, you don't need a visa for HK, but you need double entries for mainland China. You can apply for it.

I have emails supplier to send me an invitation letter for my double entries china visa application.
Some of them responded that they are not sure if the letter would work for me.
Do you know why?
I called up china visa centre and they advised to get an invitation letter of manufacturer.

Yes, if the invitation letter is sent from HK rather than mainland China, it might not work.
