Cruising from Southampton, UK to Philippines; onto Shanghai for two days & then Hong Kong

Would we be eligible for the visa free stay based on travelling from Southampton, England to Manila in the Philippines; then SH for two days before travelling onto Hong Kong?

In case that the immediate points (ports of call), immediately before and after Shanghai, are in the cities outside of mainland China, like in the itinerary Manila - Shanghai - Hong Kong, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai.
