Is Chinese tourist visa applicable when transit in Macau?

Hi, I am Vietnamese living in Sydney, Australia. I am going to Shanghai with Chinese visa. On the return, I will fly from Shanghai, transit at Macau, to Vietnam, then back to Sydney. I wish to go out for a short sightseeing in Macau. Is my Chinese tourist visa okay for a short transit trip? (Note that my Chinese tourist visa is single-entry and I will enter Shanghai first).
Thank you.

Hanh, your Chinese visa is not applicable to the trip in Macau. However, as far as I know, you can enjoy visa-free for Macau if the layover is not more than 48 hours, and during this layover you can enter and visit Macau.
