About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa for NZ citizens 48 hours

My wife and I will be on a cruise ship Silver Muse arriving 0600am on 28 April 2020 departing 1800pm 29 April 2020. Do we need to get a visa before departing Auckland.

Jason, all you have supplied is the time of your arrival in Shanghai and the time of your departure from Shanghai. OK, I have taken a look at the schedules published for Silver Muse ship and I can see that you are talking about the cruise starting in Singapore and ending in Yokohama. It has the above mentioned port of call in Shanghai and you are perfectly eligible for visa free transit while in the city and its surroundings because your port of call in Shanghai is between two eligible ports, i.e. Hong Kong and Nagasaki.
